The DV Notebook Generates Excitement at DVCon 2009

Posted: 2009.03.01

Members of the Achilles team highlighted the DV Notebook product at DVCon 09 in San Jose, CA. The conference was well attended, and provided the perfect opportunity to increase awareness of Achilles products on the west coast.

The value proposition of DV Notebook was well received by customers, analysts and vendors alike. Some of their thoughts and reactions are featured in the DVCon09 thread of our blog. Achilles received some EDA coverage including photos and audio clips on EDA Café as well as a brief mention on the blog The ASIC Guy.

DVCon provided an excellent opportunity for the Achilles team to hear from a different group of users. Within the first day of product demonstrations, it became clear there were three problems that clearly dominated the mindset of DVCon attendees:

  • Triage of large numbers of test failures by efficiently sorting on specific error signatures.
  • Consolidating program outputs from multiple sources into one location.
  • Tracking multiple metrics over time to gauge the health of their project.

As a result, attendees clearly identified with the DV Notebook's ability to distill regression results and log files down to a set of web-based collaborative dashboards. Some of the best feedback that we received was related to the simple ability to custom tailor results and status reporting to give the team rapid comprehension of critical information.

The verification engineers and managers that stopped by the Achilles booth agreed that the DV Notebook can save a team hours each day. When verification results are presented as tables and charts of hyperlinked data elements, teams can easily view high level status and then quickly drill down to details to take immediate action.
